A német harmadosztályba való feljutásért rendezett első mérkőzésen a Lokomotive Leipzig hazai pályán 2-2-es döntetlent játszott a Verl csapatával. Sokáig úgy tűnt, a lipcsei csapat megnyeri az első meccset, azonban a 88. percben a csapat kapusa, Fabian Guderitz bekapta az év egyik legnagyobb potyagólját.
