Szalai Ádám hosszú évek után a Bundesligából Svájcba, az FC Basel csapatához igazolt. A magyar válogatott csapatkapitánya a Mainztól távozott, a svájciakhoz pedig 2023 nyaráig írt alá.

Szalai 12 évet focizott Németországban, ahol 54 gólt szerzett, nyelvi problémái tehát nem lesznek új csapatánál. Szalai Ádám a 11-es mezben fog majd focizni.
