He is head of the academic research group studying maternal influence and embryo genesis. He has spent considerable periods in leading research groups in Switzerland, the USA and Germany. With his colleagues he is hoping to understand the role of influential maternal genes in the life of offspring through the methods of genetics, molecular and cell biology. They conduct experiments with the model species of fruit flies. He has received the award of the Academy and the Széchenyi Professors' Scholarship.
