Since 1992 he has been head physician of the Department Internal Medicine III of the Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Hospital, Budapest, doctor of medical sciences (DSc), and qualified as honorary lecturer of the Semmelweis University. He qualified in internal medicine and cardiology, and is a certified diabetologist, hypertonologist and lipidologist. He is a supervisor head physician of internal medicine in Budapest, and is a member of the Professional Board of Internal Medicine. He regularly participates in the practical training of medical students at the Semmelweis University, as well as in the specialist training of doctors of internal medicine and general practitioners, the post-graduate training of doctors, and in leading the practical training of candidates for special examination in internal medicine. He is member of numerous national and international scientific societies. Since 2004 he has been president of the Hungarian Diabetes Association. In 2002 his professional activity was rewarded with the Pro Sanitate and in 2004 with the Pro Diabetologia prize.
