She obtained a degree in general medicine at Semmelweis University of Medicine in 1970. Between 1970 and 1979 she was assistant lecturer at the Pathologic Anatomy and Experimental Cancer Research Institute no. 1 of the University, then from 1979 to 1989 fellow and researcher at the National Work and Workplace Healthcare Institute. Until 1998 she was head of the human cytogenetics of the institute. In January 1988 she became head of the Toxicology Main Department of the National Chemical Security Institute and in the following October she was appointed director and head physician of the institute. She specialises in pathologic anatomy, pathologic histology and social medicine. She obtained a postgraduate degree in medicine in 1981, in 1996 she was accredited and from 1999 she became a doctor of the Academy. She is a member of the Hungarian Oncologists' Association, the Hungarian Human Genetics Association, the Hungarian Pathologists' Association, the Hungarian Biologists' Association, the Collegium Ramazzini, the European Environmental Mutagenesis Association and others. Her work was recognised with the Batthyány-Strattmann award in 2000.
